Child Restraints
Infants younger than 1 year and less than 20lbs must be restrained in a rear-facing infant seat.
Children aged 1 through 3 years and 20-40lbs must be restrained in a forward-facing child safety seat.
Children aged 4&5 years and less than 55 inches tall must be restrained in a booster seat (this law is subject to a referendum, if a referendum petition is filed it will only take effect if approved by the voters, if none is filed it will take effect on 1/8/03.
Children aged 6 to 15 year olds or children measuring 55 inches or more must be restrained but the adult belt can be used.

Seat Belts
People aged 16 years and over must wear a seatbelt when travelling in the front seat. |
