A recent randomised controlled trial conducted with 111 parents in America found that parents who received a practical demonstration of how to fit and use a child car seat, were significantly more likely to correctly use a child car seat than those parents who only received an education session without the practical demonstration in their own vehicles.

• Carrying Children Safely - online Video
RoSPA has produced a film entitled “Carrying Children Safely”, which you can watch online.
The film is split up into several chapters which can be viewed on their own or all together. They include an introduction to child car seats and why they are needed, as well as sections on choosing and fitting rearward facing seats, forward facing seats, and booster seats and booster cushions. It also includes information about the laws on carrying children.
